Our wonderful boy Hektor was put to sleep February 5, 2008 after a battle with cancer.
Hektor lived with a very good friend Barbara Winslow and her two young sons for just over two years and was loved to pieces. I believe that everything happens for a reason. I never intended to give my boy away, but he helped his new family through some difficult times and was extremely happy there. Barbara is a small animal vet and he came along to work with her.
Hektor was very special!
A natural herder:
A dog who just loved working, cuddling and anything you wanted to do with him. His tightly curled tail was always wagging and he was ready.
The summer when he was three years old for example I decided to enter him in an obedience trial at the east coast. I had six weeks to train him from nothing. He could stand and stack himself very nicely for conformation shows. That was all! We trained in my backyard 10 - 15 min/day with lots of goodies and a happy voice (no clicker) and after six weeks we entered four trials. The first one we blew, the second one also. I saw this as his first class training. In the third one he was the only qualifier and in the forth trial he was the highest scoring qualifier. Two months later we entered another trial and got a third place and so he had his CD. That was my Hektor!!! I just loved him!!!
Hektor has quite a few children and grandchildren in Canada, UK, Holland and USA. He is the sire of among others Jonricker Nicke Lilltroll and his litter brothers and sisters.
This sweet boy will always live in our hearts!!! I'm so thankful to Marie- Anne for letting me have him!!! Thank you!!!!
